Simple and Easy Gratitude Steps to Make Your Smallest Desires and Your Biggest Dreams Come True

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.

Step 1:

Set a reminder in your smart phone or google calendar for a specific time every single day for 30 days where you will make the commitment to stop completely what you are doing for just a couple of minutes and write down what you are grateful for.

There is no specific time rule here. You don’t ‘have to’ do it before bed. Do it when the time is good for YOU – the only RULE you MUST follow is that you DO IT each and every day for 30 days. Period.


Don’t over complicate this process – just do it. Use your smart phone as your note taker. You can’t make an excuse that you have nothing to write with – your smart phone is with you ALL THE TIME. It’s even beside your bed at night, we all know this so no excuses. Just do it.  

If you happen to slacken off when your alarm goes off and you miss writing down your gratitude’s for the day – you MUST start your 30 Day Gratitude Challenge back at day one. Evil I know, however this only benefits YOU so don’t give up, just do it. And if you do have to start back over at day one you can always be grateful for having more time to complete your challenge. 🙂

There is a MUST in this process and this is one of the KEY steps that many people don’t apply and why they end up saying that gratitude journaling doesn’t work. While you are writing what you are grateful for, FEEL the gratitude! While you may not be able to make that feeling orgasmic while at work (think Herbal Essence shampoo commercial LOL) you can at least smile from ear to ear with joy exuding from your heart how completely grateful you are. Bask in the feeling, hold the gratitude deep within your being, carry it with you for as long as you can. This is the first KEY to gratitude success.  

Feeling Gratitude with Lisa WhatleyThe second KEY – don’t ruin your forthcoming blessings by writing how grateful you are then put your smart phone away and go right back to feeling pissy and talking smack about your money, health, relationships and happiness! All those blessings that you are pulling to yourself during your gratitude moments – get cancelled out the moment you step back into the pity-me-negative-stinkin-thinkin-talking-shit zone! Gone as fast as your Herbal Essence orgasm! 🙂

So if you have a problem with stinkin-thinkin-talking-smack you can correct it by catching your thoughts and biting your tongue. Stinkin thought comes in – flip it to something more positive. Smack gonna fly out of your mouth – don’t say it. Think before you speak and live by Thumper’s rule – If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all. Honestly there is no sense in practicing being grateful when you are living less than gratitude. Your living (within and without stinkin-thinkin-talking-smack) cancels out what you are momentarily practicing.

If you want amazing blessings to start showing up in your life begin “living” a life of gratitude. Stinkin-thinkin-talkin-smack ain’t gonna get you there. Period.

Step 2:

Ok, so when your alarm goes off you’re going to write out and feel your gratitude for your money, your health, your relationships, your happiness and also write why you are grateful for having them. One gratitude sentence filled with as much herbal-essence-shampoo-emotion as you can bring up. One sentence for EACH AREA (your money, health, relationships, happiness) fueled with uplifting emotion. Simple.

Then you ask the question – how can it get any better than this.  

Why? When you ask this question you are asking for more of the same but even better than what you already have! You are allowing the even better to come to you by being open to receiving even better by asking how can it get any better than what you already have. So if you happen to find a toonie (that’s a two dollar coin here in Canada) on the ground, pick it up feeling completely grateful, give thanks and ask how can it get any better than this?! When you do this, you are putting out a vibe, a signal, that you not only loved receiving the blessing of the coin but that you are fully open to receiving even more and better, bigger blessings and letting go of how that will happen.


Example Gratitude Statements to Write Out in Your Smart phone:

I am so completely happy and filled with gratitude for (what) because (why). How can it get any better than this? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am truly blessed and filled with so much gratitude to have (what) because (why). How can it get any better than this? Thank you, thank you, thank you!  


Step 3:

Carry your feelings of gratitude with you throughout your day. Look for things to be grateful for and before your thirty days are over the blessings will be raining down on you!

This gratitude challenge is just the beginning. There are a lot of other processes that you can use. There are tons of ideas on how to do this. I’m sharing this in a way that is super simple just to help you get started. Once you have completed thirty days in a row you will have made this a habit. An amazing habit that you will reap miraculous benefits from. Just start. Just try. What do you have to lose?
